 The quality just isn't there. Nov 19, 2009
It's a shame, because it's so handy to have the retractability to take with you everywhere, but I will be returning this item because it doesn't sync well. It's flaky, perhaps because of the small wire diameter, perhaps because of cheap end connections. The entire device has been made with an eye towards minimizing cost, not towards maximizing reliability. Today I had to sync with a different cable because my sync got interrupted due to poor connection quality. I tested it several times with same results. Another example of the poor quality is that the sticky label describing how you shouldn't over-pull the cable has already fallen off after a week. I will search for something a bit higher quality next time....

The cable is compact and convenient. Construction seems substantial, and it does sync/charge the 3G. My only problem with it: the connection between the cable and the charging device seems to randomly drop for no reason. Charging ceases, and if connected to a computer the phone unmounts from iTunes. The only way to fix this when it happens is to unplug the cable and reconnect it, which results in the phone going thru the resyncing process with iTunes (if connected to a computer).

Awesome sync cable, I use it to charge and to sync, it practically lives in my pocket! Great product!

Had no problem with this product. Charged my iphone 3G and its compact. Shipment was quick as well.
